Which laminate is right for you?
Thicker isn't always better — the right board depends on your subfloor, the room and how much foot traffic it takes. We'll help you pick between 8mm boards for bedrooms and light-use rooms, and 10–12mm boards for hallways, living rooms and rentals. Every quote includes the correct underlay, scotia and door bars.
Wood-effect finishes for every room
Warm oaks, weathered greys, natural walnuts and modern light tones — we stock the finishes London homeowners actually pick. Come in and see full-length sample boards side by side; it's the best way to make a decision you'll be happy with in five years.
Fitted properly, first time
Laminate looks simple, but a bad fit shows immediately — buckling, gaps, noisy thresholds. Our own fitters (not subcontractors) lay every board with the right expansion gap, scribe around radiators and skirting, and finish with beading or scotia that matches the room.
Laminate or LVT?
Laminate gives you the most convincing timber look for the money and suits bedrooms, living rooms and hallways. LVT is quieter and warmer underfoot and copes with water, so it wins in kitchens, bathrooms and utility rooms. Both are in the showroom side by side — bring a photo of the room and we'll tell you honestly which we'd fit in our own home.
Common questions
- Can laminate go in a kitchen or bathroom?
- We'd steer you to LVT or sheet vinyl for rooms that see water. Laminate is at its best in bedrooms, living rooms, landings and hallways.
- Do you take up the old floor?
- Yes. Lifting the old flooring, preparing the subfloor and taking the waste away are all part of the quote.
- How long does a fit take?
- Most rooms are done in a day, and a whole flat usually takes two to three. We'll give you a realistic timeframe with the quote, not an optimistic one.
- Will it be noisy underfoot?
- Not with the right underlay. We choose the underlay for your subfloor and the floor below you — that's what quietens footsteps in flats and mansion blocks.
